Another surprise shower!?

Okay, so I guess Tyler and I are just easily fooled because we really thought we were getting away with not having a lot of attention during the pre-labor months. Needless to say, our friends and family were not going to let that happen and when we arrived in AZ there was ANOTHER surprise baby shower!!! This time, we were not expecting anything. Just randomly decided to head over to the Herr's house for a chili dinner. We got super busy that day and we even talked about not showing up-seriously! haha I hadn't shower all day and Tyler and I were literally in sweats. Next time, you think you could give a girl a little notice ;-) just kidding.

It didn't matter what we were wearing or what the circumstances, we were speechless and had a great time. We are truly so lucky to have so many caring friends and family share this experience with us. Thanks to everyone who came and who helped plan the shower. We had a GREAT time and were definitely surprised!!!

Oh, and I forgot to mention that there was a dessert bar that would make a pregnant girl happy for months!!!

Happy Birthday Marcia

I have been a little behind on posting events, so I apologize, but better late than never I guess. Marcia celebrated her birthday a couple of weeks ago and what a great night it was. We went over to Dave and Marcia house had a great dinner, played ping pong, darts, and enjoyed everyones company. I hope you had as good a time as we did Marcia. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Phoenix Children's Museum

This year Jenna and I decided that instead of the girls exchanging Christmas gifts, we would take them to do something fun together. I am so glad that Jenna suggested the Phoenix Children's Museum. The girls are at a perfect age to enjoy this museum. There was a craft room, a grocery store, pizza parlor, car wash, and many many more things to do. The girls had a great time and there was a ton of exploration and giggles going on. It was a great day!

Okay, so this ice cream shop above might have been the cutest thing ever. The girls would stand there and wait for their 'customers' to arrive and then they would serve them. It was SO cute! I think they could have stayed there all day if we would have let them.

There were some great spots for Carter to hang out too while the girls played. He is the cutest little guy ever I just love him :)
Mckaley making her pizza at the pizza parlor. There were even tables for the parents to sit down so that the kids could serve us. The grocery store. And they are off. . .

At the car wash. Kadie was much better a navigating than Mckaley was. Mckaley just kept holding the line up. I think we may need to practice our bike riding skills a bit more.
They had this huge castle that the kids could paint. Note to self though, don't ever do this again in a white shirt. Luckily all the paint came out, but still it was messy!!!

Mckaley's Big Girl Room

With the arrival of Baby Brother, I decided that I was going to make Mckaley's room extra special for her as well. I didn't want her to be jealous that baby got all of the attention. I am really really happy with the finished product. Take a look and let me know what you think. . .

Is there something wrong with this picture?!

So, I'm 37 weeks pregnant I would be lying to everyone if I didn't say that at this point I am basically expecting to get waited on hand and foot until Baby arrives. Instead, here is what I did today:

Woke up at 7 am got ready for the day, saw Tyler take off to play basketball with his friends, made breakfast for Mckaley and myself, started laundry, and then around 9 saw Tyler come limping home with a back injury! I felt so bad for him because I know how much he HATES to
be sick or injured. So, I got him ice, tried to find Advil (which in a pregnant woman's home is like trying to find a bottle of good wine), set him up on the couch and took Mckaley for some errands. We went to Hobby Lobby (couldn't find what I needed) and Walmart (got a few groceries) and then came home. M helped me make lunch and some fabulous home made apple-caramel chocolate chip cookies and then I began to clean the kitchen. After lunch I took Mckaley upstairs for her nap then took off for Home Depot (painting Baby brothers room) and Michaels (found what I needed). Mckaley had just woken up when I got home so we went upstairs to organize Baby Brothers room. Well, I organized by putting clothes and gifts away along with storage containers in the closet for all that fun baby stuff. She disorganized by taking all his cool gifts out and showing them all to me or running them downstairs to dad to play with. After that took much longer than it should have, I made a good dinner of a chicken and pasta bake. I then cleaned the kitchen again. Ugh- I hate unloading the dishwasher right now!

And Tyler? Well, this is what Tyler did today. . .
Is there something wrong with this picture!?

PLEASE feel better Tyler!!!! Even if my motives are selfish, I really really do hope you get better soon :-D

Trip to CA

Beware, this is a long post with a lot of pictures. . .

Mckaley, Tyler, and I all took a trip to CA last week. This is going to be my last trip there for a while as I am now 36 weeks pregnant and the airlines won't let me (nor would I want to) travel on an airplane this far along in pregnancy. I have to say, it was SO nice to have Tyler around! Even though he came a day later, it was still very nice to have his company and even nicer to have his help on the airplane trip back. While we were there, we did SO many fun things, so I'm going to post them by day.
Day 1 (Thursday): Mckaley and I flew out to CA by ourselves and my dad picked us up from the airport. I was there for work, so I had a board meeting that I went straight to. My dad, Mckaley, and my mom (who got off work early!!) all hung out for the afternoon until I was done. Then we went to Walnut Creek to check into the hotel and got yummy Skipolini's pizza delivered :-D

Day 2 (Friday): Tyler didn't get into town until later this afternoon so Mckaley, my mom, and my dad all went to Lafayette. The girls all got their nails done at this really cute nail salon called Pinkies. Mckaley was such a good girl for her first nail salon experience. She picked out a bright pink color (of course) and even got a flower put on her thumb. She felt so fancy!

After our nail appointment, we all went back to the hotel to take a nap and wait for Tyler to get into town. Ross picked him up from the airport, which was great because we didn't have to take a trip out there to do it. Thanks Ross! That night, we were supposed to go out to dinner to celebrate the arrival of Baby Brother. It was going to be a group of about 8 of us: myself, Tyler, Mom, Dad, Terry, Greg, Jan and Gary. I decided that dinner without Mckaley might be a nice change so I asked Devin and Kelly to babysit for the night. Mckaley had the BEST time with them and still talks about her footy pajama party.
After dropping M off for dinner, we headed to pick up Terry from her house. Keep in mind I was expecting dinner at Piatti's for about 8 people, so needless to say I was a little surprised when I walked into the house with about 40 of my friends and family there to shower Tyler and I with gifts. I am so thankful for my Mom, Jan and Terry for planning everything and for everyone who showed up. The house was decorated beautifully, the food was phenomenal (especially the mac n cheese dish!) and it was so nice to see all our friends and family in the same place at the same time. We certainly felt loved and were excited to see that everyone is just as excited as we are about bringing Baby Brother into this world. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
Isn't this cake just adorable?! It tasted pretty darn good too!

Another BIG THANK YOU to my Mom, Terry, and Jan!!!
Day 3 (Saturday): Today was filled with volleyball and basketball. Did you expect anything else from Tyler and I? Bright and early this morning I headed over to the gym to watch two NorCal teams play. Both teams did very well over the weekend and it was certainly fun to see them play. Tyler and Mckaley also came by later in the morning to watch some volleyball and M got to run around the gym and hang with all the big kids. After watching three matches, we had some lunch and then M and Tyler went back to nap and watch the Arizona Cardinals game -sadly they lost :( I went out to the Oakland CC to watch two other teams play in the afternoon. Again, I watched some good volleyball so although I was tired and my feet were swollen, I def enjoyed myself.

Later that night we went to Saint Mary's to watch the Men's Basketball Team play Portland. It was SO nice to get to see them play again. We had really good seats and Saint Mary's won in a good game. We had a great time being back in the gym, talking with fans and Alumni. Saint Mary's is such a close knit community that we really felt back at home seeing everyone there.

Day 4 Sunday: I was back at it all day watching volleyball in the gym with Mckaley and Tyler went golfing with Ross. I was really happy that he got a chance to play because the weather was not that cooperative. After volleyball, my mom and grandparents were nice enough to take Mckaley for the night so that Tyler and I could go and hang out with Ross and Leyla. It had been so long since we had seen them, so it was really nice to go out to dinner and catch up. I really miss having them around. Thank you Mom, Dad, Ggma, and Ggpa for watching our little girl!

Day 5 Monday: Today we packed our bags and sadly got ready to head home :( Before our flight, Keegan and Michelle were nice enough to meet us all for lunch. It was myself, Tyler, Mom, Dad, Keegan, Michelle, and Mckaley. It was just your typical lunch out, but I can not tell you how happy I was to be there with my entire family. There is nothing like having family around so when I go out to CA I take full advantage of the time I get with them. It makes me so happy to just be in their company. I can't wait to see them again!!!
