Trip to CA

Beware, this is a long post with a lot of pictures. . .

Mckaley, Tyler, and I all took a trip to CA last week. This is going to be my last trip there for a while as I am now 36 weeks pregnant and the airlines won't let me (nor would I want to) travel on an airplane this far along in pregnancy. I have to say, it was SO nice to have Tyler around! Even though he came a day later, it was still very nice to have his company and even nicer to have his help on the airplane trip back. While we were there, we did SO many fun things, so I'm going to post them by day.
Day 1 (Thursday): Mckaley and I flew out to CA by ourselves and my dad picked us up from the airport. I was there for work, so I had a board meeting that I went straight to. My dad, Mckaley, and my mom (who got off work early!!) all hung out for the afternoon until I was done. Then we went to Walnut Creek to check into the hotel and got yummy Skipolini's pizza delivered :-D

Day 2 (Friday): Tyler didn't get into town until later this afternoon so Mckaley, my mom, and my dad all went to Lafayette. The girls all got their nails done at this really cute nail salon called Pinkies. Mckaley was such a good girl for her first nail salon experience. She picked out a bright pink color (of course) and even got a flower put on her thumb. She felt so fancy!

After our nail appointment, we all went back to the hotel to take a nap and wait for Tyler to get into town. Ross picked him up from the airport, which was great because we didn't have to take a trip out there to do it. Thanks Ross! That night, we were supposed to go out to dinner to celebrate the arrival of Baby Brother. It was going to be a group of about 8 of us: myself, Tyler, Mom, Dad, Terry, Greg, Jan and Gary. I decided that dinner without Mckaley might be a nice change so I asked Devin and Kelly to babysit for the night. Mckaley had the BEST time with them and still talks about her footy pajama party.
After dropping M off for dinner, we headed to pick up Terry from her house. Keep in mind I was expecting dinner at Piatti's for about 8 people, so needless to say I was a little surprised when I walked into the house with about 40 of my friends and family there to shower Tyler and I with gifts. I am so thankful for my Mom, Jan and Terry for planning everything and for everyone who showed up. The house was decorated beautifully, the food was phenomenal (especially the mac n cheese dish!) and it was so nice to see all our friends and family in the same place at the same time. We certainly felt loved and were excited to see that everyone is just as excited as we are about bringing Baby Brother into this world. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
Isn't this cake just adorable?! It tasted pretty darn good too!

Another BIG THANK YOU to my Mom, Terry, and Jan!!!
Day 3 (Saturday): Today was filled with volleyball and basketball. Did you expect anything else from Tyler and I? Bright and early this morning I headed over to the gym to watch two NorCal teams play. Both teams did very well over the weekend and it was certainly fun to see them play. Tyler and Mckaley also came by later in the morning to watch some volleyball and M got to run around the gym and hang with all the big kids. After watching three matches, we had some lunch and then M and Tyler went back to nap and watch the Arizona Cardinals game -sadly they lost :( I went out to the Oakland CC to watch two other teams play in the afternoon. Again, I watched some good volleyball so although I was tired and my feet were swollen, I def enjoyed myself.

Later that night we went to Saint Mary's to watch the Men's Basketball Team play Portland. It was SO nice to get to see them play again. We had really good seats and Saint Mary's won in a good game. We had a great time being back in the gym, talking with fans and Alumni. Saint Mary's is such a close knit community that we really felt back at home seeing everyone there.

Day 4 Sunday: I was back at it all day watching volleyball in the gym with Mckaley and Tyler went golfing with Ross. I was really happy that he got a chance to play because the weather was not that cooperative. After volleyball, my mom and grandparents were nice enough to take Mckaley for the night so that Tyler and I could go and hang out with Ross and Leyla. It had been so long since we had seen them, so it was really nice to go out to dinner and catch up. I really miss having them around. Thank you Mom, Dad, Ggma, and Ggpa for watching our little girl!

Day 5 Monday: Today we packed our bags and sadly got ready to head home :( Before our flight, Keegan and Michelle were nice enough to meet us all for lunch. It was myself, Tyler, Mom, Dad, Keegan, Michelle, and Mckaley. It was just your typical lunch out, but I can not tell you how happy I was to be there with my entire family. There is nothing like having family around so when I go out to CA I take full advantage of the time I get with them. It makes me so happy to just be in their company. I can't wait to see them again!!!

How fun!! Glad you enjoyed your trip. How sweet of them to throw you a shower. I'm sure you were in need of a few things. Are you all ready for baby bro no? BTW-- What is his name? Have you decided yet?

No, we are not totally ready yet, although I feel like I am getting much closer. As for names, we still don't have a winner, but the top choices are: Michael, Caden, Lucas, and I like Hudson and Colton (both were not Tylers favorites though :(
